Worst news graphic ever
I saw this on news.google.com. Obviously the story is about the Asian bird flu. That graphic really caught my eye though. I love the old mallard illustration with "bird flu" just kind of plunked into the top right corner. It actually gets better when you click through to the article by clicking on the image.
It's all wonderfully low-res, pixelated and nasty. I'm thinking somebody was out sick so perhaps they turned to an intern for help, or maybe someone that "knows photoshop" down in the finance department. I'm thinking something like "I don't care, give me a graphic with a duck and the words 'bird flu' on it, and fast..." was said. It actually gets better if you check out the original link. Here's a screenshot in case it goes down:
The original dimensions of the graphic were 120x101 but the image was blown up to 298x251 pixels on the site, making matters much much worse.
