See the Grandstand was super small and right next to the hydroplane pit with an awesome view of everything. Out in the distance on the water you can see the log boom with all the boats watching the hydroplane course. I paid $50 bones for a single seat here and I really got my money's worth. I'd do it again next year.

This one is neat because they do a really slow loop in formation and have to really crank the throttle to hang up there moving really slowly. Then they crank the throttle again after the break at the end.

This was one of my favorite clips. They do a really cool break maneuver and the soloists fly right over the crowd, around over the beach, over the 90 bridge, then back over lake washington. Good sound from the engines too.

Back in college I took a screenwriting class. Actually I also took a bartending class and a course called "Posture Education and Relaxation Techniques," both equally as silly.
Anyway, I took a screenwriting class and of course the focus of the class was to write a screenplay. There was a fairly brisk writing schedule where we'd have to write x number of pages in a week then bring the progress in for feedback.
Part of me didn't want to do the work, thought it'd be difficult but I quickly came to the realization that it'd be difficult only if I made it difficult. It could be fun if I wanted it to be fun, so I decided to have fun. When I wrote, I wrote whatever came to mind and just typed what came to mind and followed wherever the train of thought happened to lead. I wound up having a blast, staying up all night on occasion not because I was stuck but because I honestly wanted to know what was going to happen next.
The final output was very well received, without a doubt the most interesting, entertaining script created in the class that semester. What excited me was that my fellow students came to class excited to hear what was going to happen next, which was a huge kick.
And yeah, I got an A, and had lots of fun, and up on the shelf it went. I think at the moment it is on a shelf at a screenwriter friend's place out in hollywood somewhere, having been deemed "good."
But yeah I had a blast. And I haven't done it since because formatting a screenplay is a huge pain and I long ago misplaced the formatting instructions that I got in class. Silly, that's the only reason I haven't written another one.
I don't know how it happened but somehow I saw a website for some "industry standard" screenwriting software called "Final Draft" and thought well, if there's one there must be more and there must be an open-source app or two floating around and sure enough there is. This morning I downloaded Celtix, will give it a whirl later on.
Man I don't know but I [...]

I think I might have to sleep in the basement tonight. When I go outside the din of a million fans and window air conditioners drones across the land. Seattle is hot and no kidding, Seattle is suffering tonight.
